Gerald (Gerry) W. Kalyniuk, P. Eng.


Gerry Kalyniuk graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1965 with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the upstream oil and gas industry, including production operations, exploration and business development, with particular expertise in project management. His experience is in Canada and the U.S., both onshore and offshore.


Upon graduation in 1965, Gerry joined Imperial Oil Limited in a career spanning 33 years, including four years with Exxon Corporation in the USA. During his career with Imperial Oil and Exxon, Gerry worked in virtually all aspects of the upstream business. Before retiring from Imperial, Gerry held the position of Technical Services Manager and Resource Division Chief Engineer, in which position he was responsible for providing all engineering services to the Resource Division of the company.


Gerry became a partner in Canadian Petroleum Engineering Inc. in January 2000. Since that time, he has worked on a wide range of projects, including the design and development of Management System Frameworks for the National Energy Board, Suncor Energy Inc., EnCana Corp. and PanCanadian Energy Corp. He has conducted Independent Project Reviews for Syncrude Canada Ltd, PanCanadian Energy Ltd. and EnCana. In 2000 - 2001 he provided consultation services to the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Government of Peru, including an evaluation of current Peruvian laws, policies and practices with regards to conservation development and recommendations for an oil and gas conservation model suitable for Peru.


Since July 2005, Gerry has provided management services to Impact Drilling Ltd., a private ten rig contract drilling company head-quartered in Calgary. He is currently President and Chief Financial Officer of the company.
